Vaquero is Spanish for cowboy. Vaquero leather was created to reflect worn cowboy leather. It is a pure aniline leather embossed with a belly alligator texture. Using premium European top grain cowhides Vaquero hides are color dyed using environmentally friendly tanning procedures. The hides are layered with wax that penetrate the leather and give it the ability to acquire a crackle effect with age. Since it is a combination of heat and wax together that creates the tipping effect, color will vary from lot to lot and in darkness and degree A final clear, water-based top coat is added to the surface of the leather to give it a smooth soft feel. When used for upholstery, Vaquero's slightly worn and distressed look will become more worn and distressed in appearance over years of use. Pattern Repeat 35 L x 32 W should be considered when calculating leather requirements for your application. Prolonged exposure to sunlight will cause Vaquero to fade.
