Texakana is a small alligator leather pattern. The design is a very small horn back gator embossing. It is produced entirely by hand, created on premium European top-grain cowhides using a specific tanning process which ensures that the leather will retain its decorative embossing for years to come. Texakana is layered with water-based finishes and glazes that give this leather its rich deep color. Expect color variation from swatch to order. Note that the finish work on the Texakana has a flat and shiny appearance. The horn back area is dull and the belly area is finished with a higher sheen. A clear water-based top coat is applied for protection. All finishes are applied by hand. Inconsistencies caused by natural markings such as healed scars, scratches, neck and belly wrinkles are apparent throughout each hide and should be appreciated. Like most pure aniline leathers prolonged exposure to light will cause them to fade. .
